Course Delivery Mode
How We Deliver Our Courses
aifc is intentional in creating a vibrant and engaging learning community for students.
aifc’s flexibility enables you to complete your course work in a time that suits you over the week. By joining the aifc community, you can complete work online from your own environment as you engage with live interactive online sessions, utilising our advanced online resources and systems, working alongside peer students, all while being supported by qualified assessors. This makes it possible to become a qualified counsellor from anywhere in Australia or even overseas, with easy access to staff for support and guidance throughout your course. Twice each year, you will be able to join other students in our face to face skills-based seminars where you can join the aifc community, connect with others and develop your counselling skills.
Our courses are delivered through live interactive online training for each unit of competency; these training sessions are recorded for your convenience if you cannot attend live. In addition to specific training for each unit, each term aifc delivered a live skills-based seminar online or face to face. Students are required to attend a certain percentage of seminar days based on your course progression, which will allow you to develop skills and work alongside other students in the aifc community.
The Friday is a student focussed day, offering opportunities such as further practical skills practice, role play observations of relevant unit content, and the opportunity to join the aifc community.
The Saturday is ‘aifc community day’ open to current students, aifc alumni and the wider community. Subject matter expert, guest speakers and staff members, will share sessions and workshops relevant to our accredited courses training material and also as professional development for practicing counsellors. Again, this presents another value-add opportunity for our students to engage further in their course content.
Our courses offer a quarterly enrolment intake. Both full-time and part-time study options are available and assuming you meet eligibility criteria, you may be able to receive Austudy/ Abstudy.
